About This Blog

Miller Brooks-60

Thank you for taking the time to visit this site. The content of this blog comes from my desire to serve Jesus by serving his church, and it is my prayer that you will be edified and encouraged by what is published here. The Word of God teaches us that God has set apart the local church in a special way to be outposts in the advancing mission of Jesus Christ. We join Jesus in his mission when we faithfully carry out the Great Commission. The Great Commission is not for some disciples of Christ; it is for all of his disciples. Every believer is commissioned and equipped by God into this mission to faithfully multiply disciples with the matchless truth and power of the Gospel.

It should be the desire of every follower of Jesus
to be a part of the advancement of the Gospel.

It should be the desire of every follower of Jesus to be a part of the advancement of the Gospel. But we will ultimately fail in this mission if our aim is to build churches. However, success will come when we follow the plan demonstrated by Jesus and continued by the New Testament church. We must make disciples. When our focus is on making multiplying disciples the church will grow, it will be healthy, and the Gospel will advance unto the glory of God.

To this end, it is my prayer that these resources will help you fulfill the Great Commission by “teaching [you] to observe all that [Jesus] has commanded” (Mt 28:20) so that in turn, you can teach others. I also hope they help you renew your mind by thinking critically and developing a sound, biblical worldview. Many of these resources are supplements to my regular preaching and teaching ministry at Dutch Cove Missionary Baptist Church where I serve as pastor, but I hope that the content here will serve the church beyond my faith family. I hope they will serve you well as you serve Jesus.

I invite you visit this site often. If you are in western North Carolina, I invite you to worship with us at Dutch Cove and see what God is doing here.

God bless you and keep you as you join Jesus in his mission!
